walkable neighbourhoods in the city’s North Gateway.

The North Glenmore Sector Study is one of the largest planning initiatives undertaken in the Okanagan and will guide the long-term, phased development of complete, walkable neighbourhoods. The study is anticipated to establish a planning + policy framework for a 30–50 year buildout alongside parks, trails, schools, community facilities, neighbourhood shops, protected environmental areas, and active farmland.

Placemark is working with the City of Kelowna in leading the North Glenmore Sector Study, responding to employment growth and the need for family-oriented housing near this economic hub. Working closely with City staff, Placemark prepared the Terms of Reference and led a multidisciplinary consulting team through technical analysis and the development of neighbourhood design options with varying housing mixes and infrastructure needs. Placemark continues to collaborate with City staff to identify a preferred option for detailed technical evaluation, while leading ongoing landowner and stakeholder engagement.

Placemark is proud to be leading this regionally significant planning process to provide the City of Kelowna with a resource for ground-oriented family housing and neighbourhood services for decades to come.
